In 2004-05 I lived on the border of Fitzroy near the intersection of
Alexander Parade and Nicholson Street. There was a male Magpie-lark that
would regularly swoop me but only when I was wearing a black vinyl jacket.
>From memory it was most aggressive during winter so it may not have been a
breeding season territorial thing- but as it never attacked me when I was
wearing any other jacket I suspect that it was more a comment on my fashion
choices.

I did hear of someone being swooped on by one around there sometime in
the last year. From memory it was near Argyle Square in Carlton, but I
could be wrong. This person was apparently singled out from a crowd of
people, perhaps because he was the tallest.
