The kiosk in the Singapore Botanic Gardens sell lots of Bird Books - not just
of Singapore.
It is also a good spot to start birding - the upper pond - the one away from
Orchard Road is the best birding spot.
Sungei Buloh Nature Park (Mangrove walks) is one of my favorite places - easy
to get there by Taxi for about $20 (don't be too early as it only opens at
8.00 - I think) and equally easy to get back by Bus and Subway.

Dear all,
I have a few days layover on a trip to South Africa next week. I would
appreicate any suggestions on:
1. Good birding spots in Singapore - details and logistics
2. Which field guide to get - are these available in Singapore>
I thank you in advance for your response.
Kind regards,
Duan Biggs
