Hi all, Had a very good morning at Cherry Lake in Altona today. Started slow but as I was about halfway around the far side of the lake a Black Falcon came whooshing overhead, then straight across the lake to the stream inlet, where a Little Eagle rose up to get into a stouche. A little further down a Black-shouldered Kite was cruising along some of the replantings. Other good species were Fan-tailed Cuckoo at the main carpark calling in the middle of the day, and a pair of Zebra Finches hanging around near the tennis courts. I found a finch nest in a tree near where they were hanging out, but it could have belonged to the Red-browed Firetails that were around a bit further.
