For those following the issue of the proposed heliport at Capertee: I am pleased to report that at last night's council meeting at Lithgow, the Councillors again rejected the proposal. The reasons given were competing land use values and unresolved questions in the acoustic studies. It was heartening to see some of the Councillors speaking very assuredly against the proposal however unlike the first application, the decision was not unanimous. The matter will now go to the Land and Environment Court in an appeal which was lodged by the developer prior to last night's meeting.

Thanks again to all of you who wrote submissions and reminded Lithgow Councillors that the Capertee Valley is a place which is valued by many for its natural qualities, birdlife, peace and ambience.

I'll keep you all updated.

Cheers,

Carol
