Hi birders

cheers - Peter.
> Hi all
> A great yet wintery day today at Birds Australia Gluepot Reserve. After
some
> overnight rain a chilly westerly brought infrequent showers during the
day,
> with temperatures of 12-15C. Despite this (or perhaps as a result) the
> reserve was a hive of activity with birds seemingly everywhere. Some
> highlights:
> 3 species of robin (Red-capped, Hooded & Jacky Winter) in one binocular
> view;
> 4 species of whistler (1 female Red-lored, a few Gilbert's, 1 Golden and 1
> Rufous (the latter two in one binocular view);
> 3 Pairs of Chestnut Quail-thrushes, one of which came to within 10 m;
> A flock of miners with at least 2 very nice Black-eareds;
> An inquisitive Southern Scrub-robin;
> 3 Shy Heathwrens displaying nicely (1 singing);
> Striated Grasswrens calling from the spinifex;
> Excellent views of a pair of Crested Bellbird foraging on the ground;
> 4 species of honeyeater (Striped, Spiny-cheeked, Yellow-plumed,
> White-eared);
> A small group of the black-capped form of the Sitella;
> Real close (3 m!) views of White-browed Treecreeper.
