Victoria - where men and men, and ducks are nervous

Shooting more "humanely" = using a bow and "nerf" arrows. Either that or
hurling insults, like "your mother is a goose!" Try calling a pacific black
duck a teal and see the reaction. If I were a duck, I'd find misdiagnois very
insulting ... but probably not as insulting as anti-aircraft fire.

Um, are you sure that the "Victorian Hunting Advisory Committee" is a
pro-hunting advocacy group?

There was an interesting piece on Radio National this morning about duck
hunting in Victoria, saying that the hunting season has been suspended this
year due to the drought.

Unfortunately, the suspension is only temporary and it'll be on again asap.
According to the article Victoria, as well as being the only government in
the Commonwealth not to have outlawed hunting of native birds, actually has
an advocacy group, the "Victorian Hunting Advisory Committee", which is a
part of the Department of Sustainability and Environment.

Moreover, they're using the suspended season to get a ballistics expert from
the US to come out and educate the hunters on how to shoot more "humanely".

It's enough to make we want to boycott Victoria as a holiday destination.
