I don't know what the Orange Pied Currawongs** do or where they go, I
don't think that they'll be looking for a nesting site at this time of
year but they may be moving to warmer climes, perhaps to the coast.
The results* of garden bird surveys show that the ones in south-east
Queensland used to move to the western suburbs of Brisbane in the winter
(1979/80) and leave in summer but more recently (1999/2000) they have
been present in more even numbers all year round and also in more of the
suburbs (west, north and south although not yet in the eastern suburbs).
Philip Veerman found similar results in the Canberra Garden Bird Survey
- he might enlarge on it?
