Hello all,
Two things...
Firstly, I've just come out of a lunch where a certain individual said
his family members in rural NSW blast emus with shotguns because they
are pest. I was les than thrilled with this comment and said, "That's
the first I've heard about that." So, is this true? Are emus a 'pest' or
simply sad victims of human inanity?
Secondly, a colleague recently said, flippantly, "Who cares about
birds?" when she and another woman were talking about the importance of
environmental protection. I was speechless, unable to defend our
feathered mates and left the room, furious. So, what should have I said.
Why should we care about our birds?
I'd love to hear what people think.
Have a safe and restful Easter one and all,
LJ
