John, the Pied Monarchs are usually not too hard to find at the Curtain Fig and I've recently had great views at lake Barrine on the short loop walk. Wongabel SF south of Atherton has a good population also but I've not been there recently. Tooth-billed Bowerbirds are not easy to find at this time of year. They have dispersed from their lecking areas. Best recent numbers at Lake Barrine, Cathedral Fig and Lake Eacham in that order. Find a tree with fruit between one and two centimetres in diameter for your best chance. Alan |
