Hi Peter and list,

Violet Town birding is very quiet at present but hopefully it might get better after a very welcome 26.1mm rain in the last 24 hours, which brought the total for 2007 up to 81.6mm. Most of the usual larger birds are still around but the smaller ones are hard to find.

Sadly we are going to a funeral in Ballina on Friday (leaving 9am tomorrow) and will not be back for about ten days so we will miss the chance to catch up and try to show you those we do have.

Some good news is that we are seeing a few more Bee-eaters this season than last so they may have had some breeding success. Still many less than 2004 and earlier though.

Regards

Barry (Note the new email address)
