Hi Birders, At 5.00 p.m. today 16/3/07, A group of birders on a Wet Tropics trip with Cassowary Tours, found the gull. We were checking a group of Silver Gulls sitting on the Esplanade pontoon near the pier. Suddenly, as I was looking through the scope, our guide Ben Blewitt yelled out the bird was flying in. As I continued watching, the bird arrived, and mixed in with the Silver gulls. We then walked towards them, and had great close up views from only metres away. A great tick for me, especially as it was my 500th bird. Cheers, Jim O'Shea ==============================www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: ============================= |
