Hi Gary,
This January, 3 of us went bird-watching in Uganda for 3 weeks which was a
fantastic experience although of course not cheap. The birding is
unbelievable (we even saw the holy grail - the Shoebill as well as sitting
with mountain gorillas) and the people fantastic, gentle, kind and so
helpful. If you are thinking of it and need details of our trip I am happy
to elaborate.
Cheers,
Fiona

Subject: [Birding-Aus] january travel for birds
Date: Wed, 14 Mar 2007 20:05:28 +1030
Dear birding aussers
I am wondering if anyone has suggestions as to where woud be good places to
travel for my annual leave to see birds. My leave is stuck in a window of
late December to end of January. Anartica would be good but my wife
becomes seasick readily so I am ruling that one out. Basically any
suggestions overseas would be appreciated(the only place I have been to is
NZ) If people have travelled at that time of year to good birding
locations any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks Gary
