On the weekend I visited Woodlands near the Melbourne airport. I hadn't visited for a while so was surprised to see burnt areas. Burnt grass and lower tree trunks on the way to the Weeroona Cemetery and 'back paddock' areas. Does anyone know if a fire recently went through the area or if it was a 'controlled' burn? (forgive me, I am not sure what a controlled burn area looks like). I found the birding rather quiet but was delighted to see a pair of Tawny Frogmouths and got a couple of shots I am really happy with: http://www.pbase.com/chezzyr/image/75189442 http://www.pbase.com/chezzyr/image/75189441 regards Cheryl =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
