Front Page Latham's Snipe

Dear All,

Latham's Snipe is front page news in today's Wyong-Tuggerah Express  
Advocate ( Central Coast, NSW). There is a campaign in the area to  
halt a proposed Longwall coal mine in the Wyong hinterland. The anti- 
mine campaigners claim that the mine works could interfere with the  
drainage of the tributaries of the Wyong River and cause reduction of  
habitat for Latham's Snipe. I haven't seen the species in the area  
myself, perhaps Alan Morris could comment on this. Unfortunately the  
Express Advocate is not on-line, but if anyone is interested, I would  
be happy to get a copy of the article to them.
