There is a substantial article on the Birds of the Ocean Grove Nature Reserve,
by Brian Hart, Gordon McCarthy, Barry Lingham, Rob Mackenzie, and Marilyn
Hewish, in the Geelong Bird Report 2004, pp71-101. It covers historic records
as well as recent ones, most being from 1970 onwards, and discusses changes.
The annotated list covers 167 species, with breeding confirmed for 54 species.

Geelong Bird Reports are published annually by the Geelong Field Naturalists
Club, PO Box 1047, Geelong 3220. There is always a detailed annual bird report
with records from the Geelong region as defined in Trevor Pescott's book Birds
of Geelong (roughly Werribee, Bacchus Marsh, Rokewood, Camperdown, Port
Campbell including the Bellarine peninsula), excluding the Western Treatment
Plant as most of the birdwatchers visiting it do not contribute records to the
GFNC. The bird report includes behaviour and feeding observations as well as
breeding, arrivals and departures, etc. There is usually a "Birds of..."
article, eg Birds of Reedy Lake in the 2005 issue, and often other short
articles, mostly on surveys of particular species - Pipits, Flame Robins, Barn
Owls for example. Marilyn Hewish has done virtually all the work on the annual
bird reports and all the editorial work since 1991.
