Hi all

I'm a birder (and photographer) from New Zealand planning a two-week holiday
around September in Australia. I'll be staying at Busselton most of the time
because that is where I have some family. I'll also be going down to Albany
for a day or two.

Can anyone suggest some good birding spots around these two places
(Busselton mainly)? I'd also be interested to know what birds generally
occur within residential gardens within the towns, as well as beaches and
wharves etc. And also quick birding stopovers between Busselton and Albany?

For anyone interested in recent Australian vagrants around New Zealand,
we've had Lathams Snipe, (probable) Channel-billed Cuckoo, Australian
Shelducks (quite a few, and have been seen around two different localities
near my city, which is Dunedin), Cape Barren Geese, Chestnut Teal, and a
Wood Duck.

Cheers,

Paul Davey
