Can we buy it as a group?
If someone can organize it we'll have a share

Bowra is certainly a great and "important" (can't underestimate this and
I know many will agree) spot for our outback birds. Let's hope it goes
to good hands.

Hi,
I've just returned from a 10,000km 4-week round trip from Brisbane,
down through NSW, Vic, and Tassie for which a trip report will be
forthcoming shortly. I have to single out Bowra as an outstanding
location. I spent 4 days there this week and to give you an idea of
how good it is, this is a list of birds I saw in the 2.5 hours between
dawn (5.30ish am) and 8.00am on Saturday morning (20 Jan 07):
Red-browed Pardalote (3), Chestnut-breasted Quail-thrush, Redthroat
(2), Hall's Babbler (10), Chestnut-crowned Babbler (20), Crimson Chat
(30), Orange Chat (7), Bourke's Parrot (6), Mulga Parrot (7),
Red-backed Kingfisher, Diamond Dove, Hooded Robin, Splendid Fairy-Wren
(2), White-browed Treecreeper, Major Mitchell's Cockatoo (8),
Budgerigar (3), and all the Australian Wood-Swallows except Dusky.
I'm sure you agree, that even in the middle of summer, Bowra is a
fantastic 'one-stop-shop' for a host of outback birds in the safety of
a station.
I'd encourage you all to visit what is the best birding spot in
western Queensland.
Also, the owners are wanting to sell Bowra, so if you have a spare
$1.5 million and would like to buy (save?) the best birding station in
Australia, then this is your chance!
All the best,
Graham
