Conditions were quite bumpy on this SOSSA banding trip out of Wollongong so we only reached just past the edge of the continental shelf. The trip was also used to release a Westland Petrel that had been found in very poor condition at Narrabeen and rehabilitated to a healthy weight by the staff at Taronga Zoo. Although we did not see it fly off it appeared to relish being in the ocean again washing off civilization and good comparisons were made between this and a Black Petrel that was netted for banding. Some good birds were sighted and a surprising number of Wandering Albatross for this time of year.

Slver Gull 100 +
Crested Tern 3
Sooty Tern 3
