5 White-Throated Needletails near Broulee (south of Batemans Bay) on the 31st and several the day before. I visit here most summer and usually see more. Also a Square-Tailed Kite soaring over a very crowded Batemans Bay on the 29th and 1 over Broulee on the 5th. Perhaps like Powerful Owls they are increasingly exploiting built-up areas. A Black Kite near Bungendore on the 29th - probably not unusual, but my first for SE NSW.
