Hi Birders,Michael Norris is right in referring to the article about the apparent increase in numbers of Powerful owls in the Syndey Region, and the article he refers to is well worth reading! For the record, in the 2004 NSW Annual Bird Report (in press), the Powerful Owl was recorded from 22 sites in Sydney and its suburbs, and there were seven breeding records. Unlike Canberra, the Powerful Owl is a moderately common resident of the bushland reserves in and around Sydney.
