Hi Ricki et al
I have had a few Mangrove Gerygones at Careel Bay a few years ago but
not sure if they are resident there. Anyone seen them there as well in
recent years?

Subject: Mangrove Gerygones at Avalon
G'day bird lovers
Whilst in the mangroves at Careel Bay, Avalon, this morning I
observed 4 Mangrove Gerygones (heard several more at the same time),
indicating that they are currently present in very good numbers.
These birds were reported at this location some years back and I am
unaware of any recent reports.
Also had lots (more than 6) of Brush Bronzewings calling at Deep
Creek, Narrabeen, early this morning. This was over a 300 metre
stretch, so you could say that they're also about in good numbers
right now - or at least vocal enough to find them easier than usual.
Happy birding
