We've had some limited success in Tassie with fencing off Fairy Tern
Breeding areas. Seems to work best in small coastal communities, where
the whole community can be convinced to get on board, and do a bit of
local 'policing'! Still not fool-proof, though, with the odd errant
dog, and un-thinking holiday makers. The Fairy Terns in Tas have
managed to rare a few chicks this last season, at least.
