I was working my way slowly through a scrap of water stressed reeds in a
deep sheep shit strewn erosion gully in the Flinders Ranges, SA, in
1977, and saw within arm reach a bizarre waving thing, a long vertical
neck and beak with alarmed bulging eyes. Reached over quickly and
grabbed it that turned out to be a Little Bittern. Very odd and never
seen one since. It will just pop up one day for you, keep at it.

We were at Warriewood for a few hours searching for them on the 27/12
without any luck. I'm giving up on searching for Little Bitterns - if I
see them I see them!
Cheers
