Last Sunday 17/12/06 I was driving past Wentworth Falls Lake so
decided to stop in and have a quick look what was there. I ended up
with a list of 45 species, including a Latham's Snipe which was
standing at the edge of the water beside the dense sedge vegetation.
This is a species not often reported in the Blue Mountains although
they are no doubt here regularly. Also present were the White-winged
Trillers that have been there since late September.
Nothing else particularly unusual but a Leaden Flycatcher was nice as
were the Rufous Whistlers, which seem to be more abundant in the
mountains this season compared to the previous few years.
Cheers,
Carol
