On similarly hot days, like 48C near Ceduna in South Oz, we found Pied
Honeyeaters had dug depressions in shady sand , ie the sand was a bit
cooler below the surface, and were sitting in these depressions.

G'day birders

Following requests to view images of the Yellow White-eyes at Broome
Bird Observatory and their odd root buttress crowding behaviour on
very hot days, I have put images up at www.rickicoughlan.com/
yellow_white_eyes.html

Happy birding
