Gooday Ian and Birding-ausers,To clarify the point. Indonesian fishermen often capture birds and they are kept and fed on their boats. Once any wildlife is found on these vessels they are treated as vermin. This is due to the fact that they could be infected or diseased. What other option would you suggest in those circumstances? Do we protect the Australian Flora and Fauna and try to keep pests and disease at bay or risk an outbreak of an exotic disease through a release program!
