Subject: Yank Wants to Go Birding in Melbourne and Sydney in Late January

Good Day,

My wife and I are going to the Australian Open Tennis Championships in Melbourne in January, 2007. I am an amateur birder and would like to bird in and around Melbourne and Sydney, particularly in the urban and shore areas. I spent a week at a sheep station near Warren (somewhere west of Dubbo) on a respite from US Navy service in Viet Nam in July, 1971. I saw hordes of Galahs and little green birds but didn't have the skill then to sort them out.

What I'm asking you is to put me onto very specific publications or persons which could assist me in this short but important visit to your continent.

The Yank, Steve Herrick.
