Keith and all,

Yes this is true BUT.. in all cases I've noticed one important requirement is a lip or flake on the roof of the cave that they can attach/hang the nest from. Sandstone caves seem to provide this more often than granite and possibly limestone. When they nest in human-made structures, it's always attached to a lip such as an overlapping sheet of iron or similar. Where there isn't such a feature the nest is likely to fall down. At least, with all the nests I've seen this is the case.

cheers
Carol

Hi ALL, it does not surprise me that these NSW endemics are found in other than sandstone, they nest in caves and such so where ever there are such structures within there range they will use it.
