Hello Peter,
Every list I've seen posted in recent days is incomplete by
20-40 species. The only way to get a complete list of all birds ever seen in
Australia is to build one yourself. Get one of the lists such as Wikipedia,
then add every rarity ever seen in OZ, then add every bird seen on the Torres
Strait islands, Ashmore, Christmas Island and all other territories, then add
all the seabirds seen and you'll have a good list.
Greater Flamingo was seen on North Keeling Island in 1988.
Regards
Richard

This list includes Greater Flamingo. Where would I go to find one!? I
assume this is/was a rare visitor - where? When?
There's another similar (competing?) list at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Australasian_birds, which also includes
it.
