Hi Birders,I have received a call from Alan Rogers on Saturday 2 December 2006 who is on Christmas island with a group of friends. He reported that yesterday he and Alan Stuart flushed a first year male Blue & White Flycatcher in the centre of the Island. They were able to re-find the bird later that day when they returned with the other members of the party. There are at least two other records for this species in recent years, one being found dead and the other seen alive at the Broome Bird Observatory 16/11/2002, and given some prominence in the year of "The Big Twitch".
