I agree and would have one if I could justify the expense.
The same caveat about knowing how to use it applies to older technology like
compasses and topo maps. I was once in a fairly remote part of Australia
about twenty years ago and could not convince a maths graduate that
recording positions to the second of a degree was beyound the accurracy of
the tools at our disposal, a 1:100 000 map and a ruler!
