Friday afternoon I visited Mt Kembla for a brisk walk after finishing my
last assignment for the year and was rewarded by finding Pilotbirds nesting.
The nest contained one chick which I could see clearly on Friday.
Saturday I returned and could still hear the chick though the nest seemed to
be getting covered in ants.
Birds seen in the area over the two afternoons include:
Pilotbird
Brown Thornbill
Striated Thornbill
Lewin's Honeyeater
Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo
Eastern Spinebill
Green Catbird
Brown Cuckoo-dove
Superb Lyrebird
White-browed Scrubwren

Sulphur-crested Cockatoo
