Hi,
Looks like a Rufous Songlark to me. The lighting is very typical of the
Valley, which at times gives everything an unnatural glow, making it hard to
pick out subtle markings. What was the bird doing? I.e. Calling when flying,
perched high or low.
Other alternative Richards Pipit.
Cheers

Subject: ID PLEASE
Hi Everyone
Could someone identify this bird please, seen at the Karijongs in the
Capertee Valley in Oct.
It was about the size of a Golden Whistler.
I know the photo is poor but we wouldn't want to make it too easy.
We are novices so it is not obvious to us.
Thanks
