G'day bird lovers

I was in the Royal National Park - Lady Carrington Drive - with Nic Bishop and Wendy Kinsella yesterday and, among a very fine line-up of birds, encountered Rose Robins on two seperate occasions. This has to be far and away the latest sightings that I have ever made of Rose Robins in coastal regions. Naturally, birds are always ready to break rules, but two birds some kilometres apart from each other (one male, one female) on the same day, suggests a pattern. I was on the south end of the drive when making these observations. I've been on the north end of the drive fairly frequently of late, but haven't seen a Rose Robin there since August. The conventional wisdom is that these birds have all headed for the hills by September.

I'd be interested to know if others have observed this species on the coast as late as this with any great frequency.

(I'm not on the list at present - too busy with uni - so would appreciate feedback which copied me in personally)

Happy birding
