Handbook of Birds of the World says:

Sharpies - world population 166k, most winter in Aus
Red-necked Stint - Aus population 353k (in 1993!)
Latham's Snipe - Aus population 15k
Common Greenshank - approx 20k

Be interested to see any other estimates!

Hi all
In preparation for a presentation I'm doing on Sunday I'd like to know
rough
numbers on how many migratory waders in total visit Australia annually,
and
specifically the following species:
Sharp-tailed Sandpiper
Red-necked Stint
Latham's Snipe
Greenshank
I've only been able to find figures for selected areas, not totals for the
entire country. I'd greatly appreciate any assistance!
Cheers
