We have had two Chukars ( Alectoris chukar) reported by different members of the public (Mosman and Maroubra) in recent days and another in Petersham earlier this year. They turn up on verandas or back doors and are probably cage escapees. However this is more of this species than has been reported in the last ten years so we are wondering whether anyone else has seen these birds around Sydney or has heard of a mass escape!
