The lakes and lagoons to the north of Canberra have all dried out now. Even
Wet Lagoon appears dry compared to the last time I visited in September.
Despite this I counted 4 Swamp Harriers here. Another interesting sighting
was an Emu in grassland by a dam just up the road from Wet Lagoon NR (near
Gunning).
Australian Shelduck were seen on dams at Crisps Creek (22), Wollogorang Rd
(1) and Bungendore STW (2). Other highlights were a White-necked Heron
along Marked Tree Rd and the many (live) Blotched Blue-tongues,
Shinglebacks and Bearded Dragons by the road.
