Hi all,

I managed some birding over the weekend while trying to finish an Honours
thesis and observed a few unusual birds for the area.

Comerong Island, Shoalhaven Heads 14/10/06.

Glossy Ibis - 1 adult feeding with 30 Eastern Curlews, a Little Egret and 200+
Bar-tailed Godwits as well as few other little things. From what I have read
this may be the first Shoalhaven record since 1985 and the 1st record for
Comerong?

Glossy Black-Cockatoo - 2 flying over the sandflats towards Shoalhaven Heads
from the Island

Windang estuary, Wollongong 16/10/06

Grey-tailed Tattler - 1 feeding with Bar-tailed Godwits.

Grey Plover - 1 by itself near the newly constructed rockwall.

Cheers,

Nigel
