Folks, At Penryhn today (very hot) in the morning and afternoon. Of note: 9 PGPs (up from 6 yesterday) - morning on the oyster bed 6 Red Knot 30+ BTGodwit This afternoon: 13 Whiskered Tern (still there at 6pm) 4 Gull-Billed Tern (came and went 3 times) 1 WF Tern (the one with the slight notch) 18 Crested Tern (at one stage there were all 4 species in the bins) The north-westerlies (and probably the drought inland) seem to see the Whiskered and Gull-Billed Turn up. The Whiskered are great-looking birds - bright red longish legs, black cap extending deeply at the back, red/reddish bills, white patch between black cap and dark underparts. Cheers, Graham Buchan ==============================www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: ============================= |
