While watching ABC Stateline Tasmania on Friday nigjht it was reported that more than 40 captive bred orange bellied parrot nestlings died last summer (see http://www.abc.net.au/stateline/tas/ ) and it surprised me that such disastrous news has not been in the public arena before this. While not intending to point any fingers about this, a thorough independent investigation would be almost impossible to complete at this point in time and we can only hope that all personnel and aviculture practices used in this captive breeding program are the best available.
