Hi All,
I know that this would not stand up in court, but a non-birding friend of mine
who lives just a few kilometres away from me, rang me this morning to report
that he had been kept awake from 3am this morning by "that damned cuckoo" we
had been talking about on a bushwalk together last Wednesday. I told him that
the koel usually arrives back in this area on the October long weekend, and he
congratulated me today on being so accurate with my prediction. He might not
know birds (plural), but he does know this particular bird ...
Regards,
Brett Davis
St Georges Basin (190km south of Sydney)
