I've seen Baillon's and White-browed crakes and Banded Land Rail at night.
As for Chestnut Rail I once led an expedition into the mangroves one night
to see if they'd be out and about. However my companions ruined the
experiment. Although instructed to be quiet they discussed, noisily,
whether a glint in the water was a crocodile (it was a beer can). Then one
got stuck in the mud and both started giggling. Never again!
