Dear Alan and all Monday 18th Sept., my next door neighbour gave me a just road killed Grass Owl, I believe a male due to light (white chest and belly), size and in good physical condition. The bird was still warm with no obvious signs of injury. It had been hit just on dusk about 6.30pm 9 km south of Gloucester on Bucketts Way. This spot is fairly open, narrow verges to road, few scattered trees on grazing land and a 100km speed limit. It is now in the freezer awaiting a trip to Sydney and Aust.Museum. =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.comTo unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
