Hi Ian,Some years ago I was part of a team carrying out bird surveys for NSW State Forests in northern NSW. We used a four letter code for birds devised, I think, by State Forests. It was interesting because there were records of Grey Falcons in the north coast forests, and quite a few of them. The code for Grey Falcon was GRFA and the code for Grey Fantail was GRFT!
