Hi
Just spent the morning cruising the Lockyer valley. Got a late start,
not arriving at Atkinson's ex-dam until around 8am. (ex-dam as it is now
almost only a muddy paddock.) Went on to Clarendon via Boyce's Rd and 7
mile - or at least where 7 mile is when there is rain... On to Gatton
and the Apex lakes, then back via the College and Lake Dyer at Laidley.
Usual birds nothing really out of the ordinary except a Koala at Lester
Bridge!
For those of you who know the spot - the Blue-winged Kookaburra used to
be there, now long gone - it's an extraordinary palce for a Koala to be,
or at least so it appears to me. There are 3 or 4 trees at the side of
the road with nothing for 'miles' - probably a slight exaggeration, but
the nearest tree line must be at least 1.5 kms due west and it's
completely surrounded by farmland. Felt a bit sorry for the poor bugger
- shd he be moved? or maybe this is normal?
Cheers
Colin.
