Hi All,
Firstly I?m still interested to hear who has been for the Grey-headed
Lapwing.
As of yesterday my running tally was at 182 birders. As far as I know,
nobody has yet dipped on this bird! If this is the case it would have to be
some sort of record.
As previously mentioned on birding-aus I?m interested in quantifying the
economic benefit of the Grey-headed Lapwing twitch to Burren Junction and
other communities. To this end, tonight I sent a questionnaire to at least
one person in each group/car for whom I had contact details.
I would expect that one of outcomes from this exercise would be an ability
to demonstrate that birders do contribute dollars to local communities.
I am hoping to get a high response rate so that the results are as
meaningful as possible. If you have been for the bird, haven?t received a
questionnaire and would be prepared to fill one out I?d be keen to hear from
you. Likewise if you aware of people not on birding-aus that could
participate feel free to let them know.
Finally, can anybody help with contact details for the following people
whose names have come up on birding-aus in relation to the lapwing?
Graham O?Conner, Allan Richards, Chris Sanderson, Myrene Egan, David Egan,
David Redhead, Francis? Redhead, Dick Jenkins, Richard Jordan, Pierre
Charbonneau, Jenny Norton, Tim Kenny (my apologies for any misspelt names)
Regards,
Rohan Clarke
