I sent the following reply to Tony, but other Palm users might be
interested.  A demo version of JFile (limited to one database) can
be downloaded from http://www.land-j.com/jfile.html

   I use JFile as my record keeper on the Palm.  It's a generic database
   program, but allows "boolean" (i.e. true/false) field values which
   is ideal for ticking off birds and providing column totals.
   It works well enough for my purposes - I transfer the data back
   to a spreadsheet by hand, which allows me to pick up any birds
   I forgot to record in JFile.
