Hi Birders,

Three interesting seabird records have come about due to the recent rough seas along the NSW Coast.

A White-bellied Storm-Petrel was blown ashore at Yamba, on the North Coast on 23/5/06. The bird was taken into care, photogrophed and subsequently relased.

A Northern Giant-Petrel was blown ashore at Ballina on 29/6/06, photographed, taken into care and subsequently released.

A Broad-billed Prion was blown ashore to Bensville on the edge of Brisbane Water on 7/6/06. This one was photographed but subsequently died and as yet I have not been able to examine the specimen to measure the bill etc but the photos look good!.

The first and last records will be reviewed by the NSWORAC as White-bellied Storm-Petrel and Broad-billed Prions are very rare in coastal NSW.
