Hi there,
I saw a pair of Bar-shouldered Doves at Ourimbah yesterday. I'm sure of the id because I was lucky enough to photograph them.

Ourimbah is between Gosford and Wyong on the NSW Central Coast.
The birds were feeding on a lawn at a small hilly rural property surrounded by thick, sometimes wet, eucalypt forest.

It's certainly a thrill to see a bird for the first time, particularly when I'd not even heard of it before. The property owner will also be pleased when I tell him, as he did not know the species.

Cheers,
Peter Adderley
