Does anybody know the correct diameter for a nest hole for a Pardalote,
small enough to exclude Sparrows and anything larger? It may be an idea
to provide a couple of artificial holes after the renovations.

Hi there John,
Many years ago when we lived in Port Augusta (northern South Australia)
we had Striated Pardalotes nesting in the eaves of our home. The entry
hole was about the size of my thumb - about 2cm. They had no trouble
getting in and out.
I was alerted to the nest site by my daughter - then about 5 years old -
complaining of the peeping of birds in the ceiling of her bedroom!
Amazing!
